ARTium did it! Our beautiful new kitchen and we couldn't be any happier! We had used Just Basements back in 2009 for our basement renovation and had such a wonderful experience, we decided to investigate what ARTium could do for our kitchen. Designer Erica did a fabulous job on presenting what we were looking for in our design. We decided to move forward with the renovation and the schedule was pretty bang on. Shout out to Joey as the site manager and Russell for keeping us up with weekly updates and some inspections. We recently completed a full basement renovation with Artium (spring 2024- january 2025), and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. What was once a dark, unfinished, and frankly intimidating space has now been transformed into an elegant, functional, and truly beautiful level of our home. It feels like we’ve gained an entirely new floor of living space, and the quality of the workmanship shows in every detail.

Throughout the project - from design with Carley and Mallory to implementation with countless talented tradespeople - the entire team demonstrated an impressive level of professionalism. Every trade arrived exactly when scheduled, communicated clearly about their work, and carried out their tasks efficiently without ever compromising on quality. We always felt informed about progress and next steps, which helped make the experience smooth and remarkably low-stress.

The team, with Scott leading the charge, was also attentive to our needs. They took the time to understand how we wanted to use the space, offered thoughtful suggestions, and adjusted plans where needed to ensure the final result aligned perfectly with our vision. On the occasions when inevitable hiccups arose—as they do in any renovation—we were able to work through them constructively. The team approached challenges collaboratively, focused on solutions, and always ensured we felt heard and supported.

A special mention goes to Joey, who was absolutely outstanding throughout the process and onsite almost every single weekday, for what felt like a year! His professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine commitment to delivering an excellent result made a significant difference. Joey consistently went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we were satisfied at every stage of the project. And we thoroughly enjoyed his beautiful singing voice and positive attitude, which he brought to our home every day.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the final outcome. The finished basement is gorgeous—bright, and incredibly welcoming. It has quickly become one of our favourite areas in the home. Artium has done three different types of renovation work over a period of several years.  The professionalism and quality is consistent and my experience with the team has been great each time.

Artium approaches all aspects of the renovation with professionalism from planning and design through completion of work.  A detailed payment and work schedule is presented in advance so you know what to expect. The team remains responsive to changes during the process and adjusts accordingly.

We've had two renovations taken care of by ARTium. First was gutting our poorly laid out basement and designing a wonderful layout that included two bedrooms, full bathroom and a large family room. It's comfortable year round and hosts Christmas morning for our family every year.

They also did the same for our ensuite and master bedroom. They navigated the challenges of the post Covid supply chains very well.

Artium has done three major renovations on my home.

The first renovation was a total renovation of my basement.  I was so happy with their work that I then went on to have them a renovation of the master bedroom, including an adjacent living space, as well as complete renovation of the master bathroom.

In all cases, my association with Artium, from start to finish, has been first rate.

The initial consultation outlined the work that I had envisioned.   That consultation included extensive discussion with the owner and interior designer who both provided me with options and then the necessary work plan.   I was able to understand exactly what the work would entail including time lines and results.

The work itself went ahead without problems.  Having unknown workers in a your home for an extended period can be stressful; however, the Artium workers were always respectful and friendly.  It was easier to contend with the upheaval of demolition and the time needed for reconstruction.

The final result with all three renovations is that I have areas in my home which are fantastic.   I am proud to show off the spaces to people who visit my home.

We signed up as clients of ARTium Design Build/Just Basements after viewing a number of their renovations and speaking with several clients who were very satisfied with their work. Our project involved refreshing or renovating large areas of our home.
Some clients are happy to just let the contractor lead the process from start to finish. There are also clients who have very strong ideas about what they want, but need assistance in bringing it to life. We fell in the latter category. The ARTium design team was extremely easy to work with, embracing our design ideas while at the same time making recommendations that enhanced them. The staff were all engaged in making our project work for us. Excellent suggestions and ideas came not only from the design team but also from other ARTium employees along the way. We had lots of questions and were very involved in the whole design and construction process as we watched it unfold. It worked well for us.
Our project involved refinishing and refreshing wherever possible, plus splurging on the design items that were important to us.  ARTium brought it together well.

About six years ago ARTium and Just Basement helped us redesign our entire basement.To this day we love the space, it still feels brand new, and we have absolutely no regrets having chosen this amazing team to work with. We did a complete floor to ceiling basement reno with Scott and the team, and were very happy with the results. Scott was very responsive and kept in touch throughout the process. The Design team, project manager, project developer, and all the employees were very polite, professional and knowledgeable as well as easy to work with. The contracts were clear and concise.
The design phase was a very positive experience. Carley and her team were great to work with. They listened to my ideas and helped come up with ideas when I could not. I love the designs we came up with!
The Builder Trends application that was used to keep track of design concepts, meeting notes and ideas was a great resource. All the plans and meeting notes were easily accessible here.
I also really liked the trades conference. The trades people they work with are all professional, respectful and willing to answer questions – of which I had many! When I have talked to friends or family about the trades conference, they said they were never given such an opportunity during their renovations.
