About ARTium Design Build

We started ARTium Design Build in 1999 with one goal in mind: to help people love where they live.

Over the past 25+ years, we’ve designed and built award-winning spaces that not only look beautiful but also make everyday life easier and much more enjoyable.

We believe renovations should feel organized, thoughtful, and grounded in trust. That’s why we guide you through every step, from the first ideas to the final finishes, with clear communication and attention to the smallest details.

Our team brings a mix of creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on experience to every project.

We don’t believe in just chasing trends or cutting corners – we listen to what matters most to you and shape the space around that.

Most of our clients come to us with a challenge, and stay with us because they feel heard, understood, and supported. And when the work is done, they’re often surprised by just how much their new space improves their day-to-day life.

FAQs

Can a design-build firm help if I am not fully sure what I want yet?

Yes, a design-build firm is an excellent choice when you’re still figuring out what to do with your home.

Our initial meetings typically begin with “as-built” drawings, which are detailed plans of your existing space that show what’s structurally possible. From there, the design team works closely with you to explore your goals, lifestyle, and how your family uses the space.

Using targeted questions, designers develop multiple layout options and 3D renderings so you can visualize different possibilities before committing to anything.

How involved will I be in the planning and design process?

Homeowners are involved at every stage of our design process, from the first meeting through to final approvals.

It starts with a conversation about how you currently use your space, what works, what doesn’t, and what your priorities are. From there, you’ll collaborate with our designer through a series of structured review sessions where you’ll make decisions on layout, materials, fixtures, and finishes. Nothing moves forward without your sign-off.

Between meetings, our team stays in touch through a dedicated project portal so you always know where things stand.

Most homeowners typically would end up investing a few hours per month during the design phase, enough to stay in control without it becoming a second job.

What makes design-build less stressful than the traditional route?

Design-build is mostly less stressful than the traditional route because one team manages your entire project from concept to completion, eliminating the gaps where most renovation stress originates.

With the traditional approach, you hire an architect to design your project, then put it out to bid to contractors who had no input on the design. This often leads to budget surprises when bids come in, design features that turn out to be difficult or expensive to build, and finger-pointing between your designer and contractor when problems arise.

With design-build, our production team is involved during the design phase, so every concept is reviewed for buildability and budget fit before you commit. If a challenge comes up during construction, the same team that designed the solution is there to adapt it.

No handoffs, no gaps, no one passing the blame.

How early should I start planning?

You should start planning your renovation at least 6 to 9 months before your target construction date for single-space projects like kitchens, bathrooms, or basements.

For additions or major structural changes, 9 to 12 months is ideal. If your project requires moving out temporarily, early planning is even more critical.

Securing accommodations and coordinating move dates takes time, and getting ahead of it significantly reduces stress for the whole family.
